Reinebringen hike
The Reinebringen hike
The Reinebringen hike offers a short but steep ascent. In recent years, a sherpa staircase has been constructed, reaching approximately 400 meters in elevation, covering a distance of 900 meters with 1566 steps. The final part of the climb lacks a staircase, and due to a well-worn trail and the steep terrain, some hikers have expressed concerns about the safety of ascending this peak.
However, Reinebringen rewards those who venture to the top with a stunning view of majestic mountain ranges, winding fjords, and, of course, the picturesque fishing village of Reine.
During the summer, finding a parking spot can be challenging, and cars are often parked along the road where the trail begins. While the hike to Reinebringen is relatively short, it demands strong legs, endurance, and balance, making it more suitable for those with a moderate level of physical fitness.
For those seeking a less crowded experience, especially during the high season, considering alternative hikes nearby, such as the trek to Munkan/Munkebu DNT Tourist Hut, may be a wise choice. Although this alternative hike is longer, it offers equally breathtaking scenery and an opportunity to escape the crowds.
Important!
While the maps are based on real GPS tracks, please note that their primary purpose is to provide a starting point and approximate route for the trip, rather than precise positioning. The accuracy of maps and GPS may also vary slightly.
You are always responsible for making your own judgments when venturing into the mountains, taking the current conditions into account. It’s crucial to ensure you have appropriate footwear for the conditions and that you bring an adequate supply of food and water for your journey.
It is also important to check the local weather forecast in advance.
